PETTAH

My sister is getting married but its almost like i'm getting married..!! Ok that might be an exaggeration but I do help out a lot. Anyway I had to go with my mom to pettah because she wanted some stuff for my sisters wedding, and the moment we got there, I was driving at less than 5KMPH, the roads are really small and the amount of people on the road is unbelievable. The reason why there are so many people is that, for one thing everything is very cheap and the availability of anything you could possibly want. From cobblers to designer shoes. The range of things you get is colossal and CHEAP. The same item you get in a large mall somewhere around colombo would probably be half the price in pettah, the reason for this i don't know. I've lived in colombo right through-out my life and never had the time or reason to go to pettah. Its just so different to everything else in colombo. Your get men making food right there on the road where u walk and selling it(patties,rolls n stuff). The cost of land is the most expensive there ranging from about 6-8 million rupees a perch. Which works out to around 60,000-80,000USD a perch. hehe quite a lot no...pettah is an awesome place to go shopping if your a tourist. Might be a little crowded but still an absolutely awesome place...

Hello....i'm completely new to this thing and did it cuz i was completely and utterly bored. I have exams in two weeks time and i actually find the time to do this sort of thing...shows how much I procastinate no? hehehe Tomorrow I'm planning on going for "dramacomp" which is organised by Royal College held at the wendt. Its an interschool drama competition in which schools from all over the country take part. Tomorrow is the finals and there probably would be a pretty big crowd. I'll write more later a lil pressed for time these days...'
